In early 2012 I started toying with the idea of getting the car back on the road & purchased Elvis' excellent book for inspiration. Sadly my Father passed away before I could start work & it was not till later that I discovered why the car was taken off the road and stored. As I had to help get stuff sorted out I decided to do a restoration on the car so that I could finish a very long term job that my Father obviously intended to do... at some point in time. The first task was digging the car out from the garage after over 30 years of storage. The bubble car parts (including a crash damaged genuine German body) were carefully removed and catalogued for sale. My father never threw anything out & I was lucky enough to find two extra early 600cc engines and a number of items from two scrapped Regals that included umpteen dynamos & starter motors. Having no experience in this sort of thing it was time to join a forum, read the book and get cracking. I hope you enjoy the progress.
