At last I was able to get inside the car & everything was just as it was when the car was last driven. Lots of ancient OS maps, AA manuals and stuff from the mid Seventies. The engine & gearbox were already out & the handbrake mechanism was disconnected from one side. 69414 miles on the clock.
There were old newspapers shoved in the front grille. A quick look at the used motors section shows what was on offer locally on the 10th Nov 1978 !
50 shades of Red ! June 2013. Some 34 years after being shut away, Phoebe makes a slow exit from the garage. This now meant all the bubble car parts & salvaged Regal items can be taken out.
And away goes the entire stock of bubble car parts including this damaged body shell from a genuine German produced Trojan. (After a couple of years this was totally restored and now sports a pearlescent orange colour. It is named "Tango".)
For the time being the garage will become the base of operations whilst I create room back at my Mums. This includes shifting other vehicles my Father left. A Honda motobike, MIG chinese bike & the remains of the stripped down D7 Bantam have all gone on to new owners. Evan a Honda C70 taken as scrap has resurfaced in Eire ! In the meantime my Brother has taken the Lomax 223 away to be completely rebuilt.
